Bryan College Cross Country Camp

 

Camp Description

The Bryan College Cross Country Camp provides male and female campers aged 12 to 18 with an educational and motivational experience as they prepare for their upcoming cross country season.  The focus of the camp is to provide appropriate training, based on the individual’s current fitness level, as well as group and individual instruction that will lead to new levels of success.  

 

Camp Dates

Camp will run from Monday, July 19th to Friday, July 23rd

Check In: Monday 9:00 to 11:00am

Check Out: Friday 2:00pm

 

Facilities

Camp will take place at Fort Bluff, seven miles from the Bryan campus atop Dayton Mountain.  The Bluff has 68 acres to explore while training on the campus.  Runs will also take place on the soft shady trails of Cumberland Plateau.  Campers will stay in the air conditioned Brown Deer Lodge. 

 

Typical Day at Camp

7:30am Morning Training Session 

9:00am Breakfast

10:00am Educational Session for Coach / Activity for Camper

12:00pm Lunch

12:30pm Free Time / Quiet Time

2:00pm Educational Session 

3:30pm Afternoon Training Session (Run, Core, Pool, etc)

5:30pm Dinner

7:00pm Activity 

10:00pm Lights Out

 

Activities

Campers will enjoy many activities during their time on the mountain including:

Miniature Golf, 200-foot Water Slide, Olympic Size Swimming Pool, The Blob and Iceberg at the Lake, Beach Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, Disc Golf, and much more.

 

Educational Sessions for Coaches

Range from training theory, yearly planning, actual training sessions, question and answer format, structuring individual progression and how to impact your athletes with a train to race approach and pre-meet preparation.  

 

 

Educational Sessions for Campers

Range from hands on learning with core, drills, mechanics, warm-up routines, flexibility, strength and circuit training, hurdling, and talks on how to “win” a workout.  Handouts that help athletes understand the importance of sleep and nutrition as well as motivational talks.  

 

Camp Registration

$250 for Residential Camper (Includes three meals a day, housing, activities and Nike camp shirt)

$200 for Coaches (Includes three meals a day, housing and Nike camp shirt)

Camper Discount – Teams with 5 or more campers from same school; receive a $25 discount

Coach Discount – Teams with 8 or more campers from same school; coaches stay free

$50 non-refundable deposit due July 9, 2010 – Remaining balance due when you arrive at camp
