Garmer First Tennessean To Earn Brooks XC All American

Brooks XC Championship

On a fog-drenched morning at San Diego's Balboa Park, the inaugural 2025 Brooks XC Championships featured a historic effort from Webb School of Knoxville, as three girls qualified individually for the national meet-- the only school in the field with multiple qualifiers. Jazzlyn Garmer led the Webb contingent with a strong 14th-place finish in 17:46.0, earning All-American honors. For most of the season, she finished behind twin sister Calysta. However, having raced here a year ago, perhaps experience and familiarity factored in. She improved by over a minute from her finish here a year ago where she placed 31st and ran 18:53.

Twin sister Calysta Garmer followed closely placing 22nd in 18:02.1. Carolina Areheart--a returning national qualifier-- was unfortunately unable to compete due to illness. Congratulations to all three competitors nevertheless. Now onto indoor!
