TMSAA State Records
In 2023, I thought it was a fluke when 13 records were set and then 19 went down 2024. Yesterday, there were eleven. But the record that you won't see in the results that really adds context to how Tennessee Middle Schoolers continue to level up these performances every time we have a state championship is this one... Yesterday set a record for the number of teams with representation at the TMSAA State Championship. Here's a progression year over year for the history of the meet:
- 2016 - 96 Teams
- 2017 - 106 Teams
- 2018 - 105 Teams
- 2019 - 119 Teams
- 2021 - 112 Teams
- 2022 - 127 Teams
- 2023 - 168 Teams
- 2024 - 175 Teams
- 2025 - 184 Teams
More athletes from more teams are participating in middle school track than ever before and as we keep casting the net even farther, these records will continue to go down!
