Small group of Lady Govs heads to Indiana

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Austin Peay State University women's track and field team will take a select group to the University of Indiana this weekend for the Hoosier Hills Invitational, Friday, in Bloomington, Ind.

For the Lady Govs, senior pole vaulting Molly Bartkiewicz and Carrie Burggraf along with sophomore Brianna Lococo will compete, as well as senior Amanda McCoy in the high jump and hurdles, junior Chiamaka Obi in the 400-meter dash, sophomore Janelle Avery in the mile run and freshman Leigha Tolliver in the long jump and triple jump.

"The goal in this meet will be to set as many personal bests as possible," said head coach Doug Molnar. "Our main goal is to get Carrie and Molly moved up on the provisional list for nationals; to do that, they'll both need about a 4.17 meter (13-08.25) height. That's been the cut-off for nationals the last few years. They are both capable of doing that."
