Meet Recap: Top Tennessee Performers From Eastern Indoors

Zavien Wolfe

Of the 63 points Memphis Central scored at last year's state meet, 57 of them were scored on the track. Dohnavon Hunt was the only contributor in the field with a third place finish in the Long Jump. In high jump, Section 4 was completely shut out of scoring with their best clearance being 5' 10" at the state competition. It's one of those events in Section 4, like girl's long jump, that is just there waiting for someone to win. After Saturday, Zavien Wolfe looks ready to claim the event for himself. The Warrior tied the highest clearance of the day with 6' 4" while setting a meet record en route to victory in the Triple Jump with a 44-7. Meanwhile, Hunt took a victory in the Long Jump at 21 feet even. If Memphis Central is going to be in the running again this year for a state championship they'll need the counter the points Bartlett will likely score in the distance events with their own in the field. This is a promising start heading into outdoor.
