Madison Jones Wins 3200m at M.C.T.C. in Nashville, TN

Saltillo's Madison Jones , who will soon be part of the Jacksonville University squad down on the coast of Florida, is not done leaving her mark just yet.

Because at the Music City Track Carnival in Nashville, TN, a very high-caliber high school meet that also features collegians and pros, Jones was slated to run in the HS Girls 3200m against competition from all across the South.

Jones, who is already the indoor 3200m record holder, decided to climb up the record books even more, as she showed Nashville what 'Sip Speed' looks like as she WON the girl's 3200m in a 10:47, closing in a 1:15 (5:00 mile pace).

This time places her 3rd on the Outdoor HS Girl's list in the 3200m, just behind Morgan Claire Rose, and just ahead of Kate Mattox and class rival Brooklyn Biancamano. Current Pro runner Cory McGee holds the #1 spot at 10:39.

Jones is slated to run the RunningLane Track Championships in Madison, AL next weekend, a meet that features some of the best high schoolers across the nation. She will be running not only the 3200m, but also the 800m. Her new 3200m PR will put her right around the top 15 heading into this weekend, and Jones is currently seeded 9th in the 800m with a 2:19 from her indoor season.

If Jones has showed us anything, it is that she is ready to compete against some of the nation's best next weekend in Madison, AL, and perhaps ready to climb up the record books even more.
