The first time Kiera Berry came on my radar, she was a freshman and had just won the 100m open at the District 9AAA championship. A year later she finished 8th in the long jump at the state championship. This season she's trying her hand at the hurdles and is making a pretty smooth transition. She currently sits 4th in her section in the 300m Hurdles and has only run the event twice. With a few more tuning races, she may be going to Murfreesboro in multiple events.

Her teammate on the other hand, Baker Schell, has been hurdling since he started high school. As a sophomore, he narrowly missed qualifying for state finishing 5th in the highs. Now he currently sits 2nd in the rankings after his performance this week and I caught up with him after his victories.

White House High School:

Quick little blurb here about the Blue Devils. While they may not be a factor when it comes to the current Large Division-I Classification, in AA next year I think they have the foundation to be a strong performer when the new classification is created. They were competitive even with the previously mentioned talent on the track and caught my eye as I ran the timing system this week. They're definitely the size of school the new three class system is targeting and will help grow the sport in at mid-sized schools.
