Introducing our 2020 DII-AA TN XC Runners of the Year

Jack Cottrell and Bella Guillamondegui had excellent 2020 seasons.

The Chattanooga Christian School senior and Harpeth Hall sophomore are our 2020 DII-AA Cross Country Runners of the Year in Tennessee.

Cottrell capped off his season with a state championship run on the first Friday in November. He won the race with a 16:18.09.

His personal-best came a few weeks earlier in Alabama. He finished eighth at Jesse Owens, clocking in at 15:33.93 to rewrite his personal record book.

Cottrell will continue his running career next fall at Liberty University.

Guillamondegui did not win the individual state championship due in large part to medical reasons.

But her body of work over the entire 2020 cross country campaign warrants Runner of the Year honors in DII-AA on the girls side.

(You can see Bella's finish at RunningLane right here around the 21:25 mark of the finish line cam.)

With two wins, four top-five finishes and a 18:25.76 career-best, Bella G led the pack in DII-AA all season long.

She capped off her season with a 49th-place finish at the RunningLane National Championship in 18:34.73.

Congratulations to all of our finalists in DII-AA - and our two winners!
