Throwback: Alex Ostberg Runs CT 3200m State Record At Loucks

Alex Ostberg took 2nd place in the 2015 Louck's games after leading the majority of the 3200m to Mikey Brannigan over a star-studded field.  Ostberg took the field out in 4:22 for the first 1600m.  He led through 7 laps when Jeremy Spiezio moved up onto his shoulder with Brannigan waiting to make his move.  Brannigan took off at around 200m to go and Ostberg was unable to hold on to his fast closing speed.

The race led 10 guys under the 9-minute mark in the fast section alone.  Our database shows 31 sub-9 performances at the event all-time with the 2015 3200m being a very historic race for this event.

Ostberg's 8:43.93 is still the Connecticut State Record today and is the second-fastest mark ever at the historic Louck's games.
