The 18th Annual Music City Distance Carnival tentatively has a new date.
It looks like we'll probably have to wait until August.
Meet director Dave Milner posted this message on the Music City Distance Carnival Facebook page.
"I am in ongoing discussions with USA Track & Field, and we have a new venue (still in Nashville) and a new date for the meet of Saturday, August 15th," Milner writes on the meet's website.
"We are unsure how many competitors will be allowed to participate and if spectators will be allowed. The new date is still likely to have a high school section, but there will be an emphasis on 3200 given the proximity to XC season."
He adds that there will likely be another update in the next week about confirmation for this date and a venue.
The Music City Distance Carnival has been a staple in the Tennessee and national track communities over the years. We saw a couple of state records, national bests and even a world record last year.
Throughout the week, we'll be reliving some of the best moments from past meets in honor of this year's competition having a tentative date on the calendar.
