SCRUNNERS XC Series: Meets announced, rules

Rules. Meets in the series below the rules. 

  1. Meets will be chosen between the official season opener (at beginning of week 9) and ending the week before traditional Region Championships begin (at ending of week 16).  Eight (8) weeks.
  2. Up to two meets will be selected for each weekend except the SCTCCCA Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic.  The BJCC will be the ONLY meet contested in the Series for that week.
  3. Meets will be selected on past history, number of teams entered, support of meet director, and location.  Meets that are strictly invitational (accepting only certain schools, such as a County Meet) will not be considered.
  4. Meets selected will have, after meet name "-part of the SCRunners XC Series" on the SCRunners calendar and on the meet page special information about the meet and the Series to help highlight both events.  Meet directors may use SCRunners logos, etc. to help promote their meet as a Series event.
  5. Meets in the Series must have their results submitted in the proper format (flat html or preformatted text format) by 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meet.
  6. Weekly and overall results will be published on SCRunners Monday morning following a meet.
  7. Teams may not send "split squads" to meets to gain points from two sites.  If this occurs only the high placing squad will be counted. 
  8. Schools do not have to participate in all of the meets.
  9. Weekly Team Points will be awarded:
  1. Maximum points awarded will be equal to the number of teams that finish.  25 maximum points regardless of teams entered (except SCTCCCA Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic- 50 points)
  2. If a meet holds two (or more) varsity races per gender, the SCRunners database will combine the results of the two (or more) races and award points based on those results.  
  3. JV teams or any teams competing in designated sub varsity races will not be considered.
  4. First place team will be awarded the number of points equal to the number of finishing teams in the race, second place will get one less point and so on until the last place team gets 1 point.
  5. Out of state schools will be omitted when calculating points.
  1. Individual points will be awarded:
  1. 25 maximum points per meet (except Coaches Classic - 50 points)
  2. If a meet holds two (or more) varsity races per gender, the SCRunners database will combine the results of the two (or more) races and award points based on those results.  
  3. Individuals on JV teams or any teams competing in designated sub varsity races will not be considered.
  4. Out of state schools will be omitted when calculating points.
  1. Meets that are cancelled for any reason will be dropped from the Series for the year and no meets will be added to make up for the cancellation.  If the meet is rescheduled for later in the year, within the time allotment, the meet will count (there may be more than two Series meets on a weekend caused only be a rescheduling of a previously cancelled/postponed meet).  Meets may not be rescheduled on the date of the SCTCCCA Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic
  2. After the Week 8 results have been tabulated.  The lowest three scores from each team will be dropped and the sum of the remaining five scores will determine the winners.
  3. Any errors must be reported to SCRunners by NOON on Wednesday following a meet.  After this time, the results will be deemed official and will not be changed.
