Pearl Cohn's guys have an excellent chance to win another state championship this May. Elijah Simmons has the runaway top mark in the shot put. He'll likely take 20 points between that and the discus. Their 4x100 is elite as well, and the Firebirds have plenty of sprint depth to score lots of points.
Kiyontae Warren leads the Roadrunners of Austin-East, who will be representing East Tennessee in this division. There will be some great head-to-head matchups in the sprints between those top two teams. Alcoa's got a shot at a podium finish as well.
The girls battle is a two-team race. East Nashville and Signal Mountain are represented in the vast majority of the events. They'll go head-to-head a lot next week in Murfreesboro.
