Cole Bullock Runs US Top 10 Mile at KYA

Red Bank senior Cole Bullock picked up right where he left off on Saturday.

The Ole Miss signee opened up his indoor track season with a bang, winning the KYA Indoor Classic with a 4:16. That mark places him top ten nationally in the early part of the season.

After the race, Bullock said he merely wanted to hit the New Balance Nationals qualifying mark of 4:17.

Mission accomplished.

He went out aggressively, hitting a 62 in the first 400. Then he settled in to the pace, running 66 then 65 over the next 800. He closed well, securing the standard and extending the gap on a talented field behind him.

This is the first installment in what may be a busy indoor season for Bullock. After an incredible cross country season, Bullock is ready to continue his momentum into the winter and fall.

He's running around 65-70 miles a week right now, but doesn't have any concrete plans for the rest of the indoor season.

Here's our full interview with him after the race.
