Performers of the Weekend: 4/23

This past weekend was a busy one across the state of Tennessee.

In West Tennessee, the Dragon Relays featured some good performances. Another installment of the Doug Hall Relays in Nashville gave us another great team battle between the mid-state's best squads. And the Volunteer Track Classic and Mid-South Championships featured some quick times in East Tennessee.

Not to mention the fact that a lot of the state's best athletes were up in Louisville for the Eastern Relays.

Let's start in Chattanooga. Hakim McMorris swept every event he competed in at the Mid-South Meet.

McMorris won all four of his events, including the long jump (22-0.5), high jump (6-2), 110-meter high hurdles (14.72), and 300-meter hurdles (40.39).

The Blue Tornado senior certainly benefited from running on his home track. At the State Championship meet in a little under a month, he'll have a great opportunity to duplicate his performance at Mid-South.

Elsewhere in East Tennessee, Austin East's Kiyontae Warren improved on his season best in the 300m hurdles. And his new mark is also the best in the state so far this season. Warren's 38.64 is the TN No. 1. His personal best is 38.54 from last year's sectional.
