Bryan\'s Middle Distance Duo Go 1-2 at Sea Ray

Knoxville, TN - Bryan College was well represented Friday evening at the forty-first running of the Sea Ray Relays hosted by UTK. The freshmen duo of Zach Mobley and Josh Bradley lowered their personal bests by placing first and second in section five of the men's 800 meter run. Mobley, running unattached, took the victory and set a new school record in the process with his 1:52.12 to Bradley's second place 1:53.39. Penn State's Mark Miller was the overall champion as he ran 1:49.81 in the top section, allowing Mobley and Bradley to finish 13th and 24th respectively in the field of 58.

"Both of these guys showed great maturity in their racing tonight," said head coach Rodney Stoker. "I knew they were capable and expected them to run this fast, but it is always easier to talk about than to actually go out and follow through. It was fun to watch them take the lead and go 1-2 in the section over a quality field. Mobley and Bradley bring a lot of energy and excitement to the line when they compete and that is what it takes to be successful. I look forward to getting them into bigger and faster races and giving them more opportunities to run fast."

The Lion's Daniel Goetz didn't get his opportunity in the men's invitational 3k steeplechase as the meet was canceled due to the weather.
