Always a runner ... side-tracked to baseball, one of several "stick-n-ball" sports I still love, for too long.

2 Track Meets in Jr. Hi (9th grade way back in '76)

Began HS Track JR year at Wooddale, Memphis, (Outdoor, Spring 1978), running for W.S. Donald, the best damn Sprint Relay Coach I ever saw. Played one final season of Legion baseball, then began running (FOREVER) on or about August 1st, 1978. Ran XC, Indoor, Outdoor as SR (Class of '79).

Ran at Rhodes (XC & Outdoor) in college. Even got a bit faster after school, but only for a while. Although never totally sedentary, I did "step off the track" for a number of years before resuming somewhat-serious "old guy" effort in 2003/2004. Now at the high-end of the 45-49 Age Group, I'm back at it, workin' hard, enjoying it, even if I never even get within shouting range of anything I ran in my 20's.

After 3 summers coaching baseball, started coaching Middle School XC (St. Agnes/St. Dominic, Memphis) in 2006 and having a whale of a good time helping these kids move up.
