Coaches, we are going to have a coaches meeting (as usual) at 4 pm on Friday at the Steeplechase.
Probable agenda:
1. Common dead period for all Fall Sports, starting the day after the Clinic Bowl for 3 weeks. Having them different places a burden on coaches/runners in NXN or FL, and encourages cheating.
2. Re-invention of a program for the state meet. They used to have one with all competitors and their numbers listed, as well as records going back to 1960. They haven't updated this since 2003. Put one in each packet, and sell them for $1.00 - they were 10-12 pages xeroxed.
3. Encourage vendors on Friday. Make this like a real big meet instead of an afterthought on the day after football playoffs start. Course packets and tee shirts available like Great America, SE Showdown, Jesse Owens, and all the invitationals we all go to each year. What happened to the bleachers we used to have for the award ceremonies? Have two at the finish line, one for coaches, 3-4 for the awards. Other suggestions?
Don't bother to bring up. been shot down several times:
1. Re-alignment in A/AA or AAA to be more like track and/or allow more individuals.
Re-combining A and AA in D2. TSSAA likes geographic variety and giving away lots of trophies.
2. Enter your entire roster, or more than the current 10. As long as AllTrax don't want it, they ain't gonna do it.
