Winders captures cross country win in regional event
Henry County cross country runner Javan Winders set a course record in winning the boys’ 2-mile race at the West Tennessee Elementary-Middle School Cross Country Regional Championship held Saturday at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis.
Winders (eighth grade) won the race in a time of 11 minutes, 15 seconds to beat the course record by 33 seconds. The Henry County middle school boys placed seventh out of 15 teams.
