Williamson County Cross-Country Teams Update


Brentwood has lived up to its pre-season top billing, winning the prestigious Jesse Owens Classic in Oakville, AL on the first weekend of October.  Senior Paul Stuart has led the team all year, and placed second at Jesse Owens in a personal best of 15:34. Fellow senior, Nathan Thomas, has been a close second and finished fourth at Jesse Owens in a PR of 15:40. Sophomore Alec Thomas has been a steady third for the Bruins. He was fifth Saturday, October 1st in a PR of 15:45. Fellow sophomore, Taylor Caldwell, has been running No. 4 and was ninth in a PR of 15:53.  Alec’s twin brother Aaron rounds out the top five as 44th in 16:30.

Independence has run strong all season and has captured a couple of meets of their own. Luke Finley’s team has been bothered by injuries to a couple of his top runners; however, if they are healthy the Eagles can make it back to State. Senior Kris Howard leads the team when he is healthy. Fellow senior, Jared Wingerter, paced Indy on Saturday, October 1st  by placing sixth in 15:47.
