Metro Knoxville XC Winter Track and Field Clinic

 For immediate release:

Metro Knoxville Cross Country and the KIL Track Coaches are pleased to present the 2011 MKXC Track and Field Clinic, to be held at Hardin Valley Academy in West Knoxville. Among our presenters is an Olympic Gold Medalist (pole vaulter Tim Mack), an Olympic discus thrower (Dr. Denise Wood), a national champion hurdler (Shane Begnaud), and one of the top young NAIA distance coaches (Rodney Stoker of Bryan College). Clinicians also include Will Jay, coach of reigning indoor national champion pentathlete Maddie Treasure, Sam Roberts, who has coached state champions at nearly every discipline on the track or in the field, and strength and conditioning coach extraordinaire (just ask the Knoxville pros who go to him) Mick Larabee. It's an extraordinary group of clinicians.

Lunch will come from Snappy Tomato Pizza, and is sponsored by CoachO. Additionally, Runners Market is providing a couple of pairs of shoes to raffle off to attendees.

Sessions are geared toward both middle and high school coaches, and we strongly encourage middle school coaches to attend. Please pre-register by mailing the registration form to Don Madgett. We do encourage pre-registration, as that will help us to set up properly, but we will accept walk-up registration.

If you have any questions, please contact Allen Etheridge (aetheridge@ortn.edu) or Don Madgett (DonMadgett@aol.com).
