MBA repeats as cross country champion with perfect score

 

Montgomery Bell Academy set a state record with a perfect score of 15 to repeat as Division II-AA boys cross country championships Saturday.

The first five finishers at the Iroquois Steeplechase course were MBA runners to beat Baylor's record of 22 set in 2007.

"Those guys did something that no cross country team in Tennessee has ever done, and I'm so happy for them," MBA Coach Roderick Russ said. "It's really unusual to get a perfect score."
