The entry deadline is fast approaching for the KTC High School Indoor Track Classic which will be held on January 18-19 at the David Walker Indoor Track in Johnson City, TN. Online entries are due 1/14. This is the first year for the KTC High School Indoor Track Classic in Johnson City. Previously known as the Volunteer Indoor Track Classic the meet was moved to ETSU's 283 meter indoor monster due to facility limitations at UT's Stokley Athletic Center. The meet is sanctioned by USATF and HS athletes should enter as clubs or unattached unless approved by their state associations. Meet director Marty Sonnenfeldt expects some good early season times to be generated out of the mini dome. "It may be early - but it is rare in the indoor season to find tracks of this size" KY Invite and the Simplot meets offer HS kids the only other over 200m options in the indoor season". Its the next best thing to running outdoors says Sonnenfeldt. The meet offers a full selection of field and running events including Invite Mile and 3K races.
